After helping them the first few times, let them do the tasks on their own, but continue to check in on them to see if you can help. With time, they will become better and faster at getting their room clean.

Cleaning a whole room may be overwhelming to some kids because they can only see the big picture. Consider breaking down the tasks for your kids so that the process is much easier to handle. For instance, you and your child may pick up toys, books, and clothes from off the floor and put them in their proper places. Women have been led to believe for years that there is a small window of time when their eggs are peaking. After this fertile time, these same women are told that they will have problems conceiving, risk of genetic birth defects and higher incidences of pregnancy related problems that could lead to still birth or miscarriage. If you are one of those women who are in the midst of their fertile time, waiting for the recession to clear can feel like an eternity. And the what if?s are endless. Not to mention, that this current recession might not be a recession at all and just merely a friendly reminder from the universe that we have to live a bit simpler to experience true happiness in our lives.

Still, one would think with more people unemployed and more people spending time at home to avoid the costs of going out that a baby boom would ensue. What are all these couples doing home alone for endless hours if they are not having sex? Obviously, the question is whether or not to start a family during a recession. The answer is largely dependant upon who you ask, but here is a snap shot of the opinions of someone with a family that has no financial background and could care less about the politics of money.

No matter what or when, when children come along you will be broke. At the same time, for being broke your children are still fed and wearing decent clothes and your car, although maybe not brand new, somehow gets filled up with gas every week. During those weeks when living paycheck to paycheck is the best you can do, you realize that you have a pantry full of food you may have never thought about eating and that as long as you have coffee to keep you awake ? you are easily satisfied. And, the kids ? they don?t notice the recession at all unless mom and dad are always complaining.

No matter where you live or how much money is in your savings account, the basic things that children need can be provided for by loving parents. Yes, children can make the lack of money more frustrating and more noticeable but there is more to a family than finances. In a perfect world, everybody would have the house, SUV, fenced in yard, bulging 401K and the rainy day funds to weather any storm life has to offer. But, for most people with integrity and morals, they get by during a recession just fine. While having a child may be expensive, for most couples it is a replacement for other things that are expensive like getting your nails done or having a useless golf membership. (Sorry guys) The adage, the more you make the more you spend stands true and waiting until you make more only indicates that it will take more to support you. This forces you in to an endless circle of thinking and rethinking the choice to start your family. And when one day finally comes, when the world is financially balanced ? it might just be too late.

As expensive as children are to raise, it shouldn?t cause this feeling of doom for couples thinking about a family. You have to have some faith in your abilities, your support system and in the sheer evidence that your previous life has given you ? which is that you will be okay and provided for. No, not the law of attraction where you imagine your future and wait for it to fall into your lap ? but the law of life that has proven to give you more than you could ever use already. Don?t believe it, take some time to count your blessing and write them down. Before long you will end up with a book that includes many things except for the ones that you want the most. The sound of little feet on your hardwood floors.

Believe it or not, lots of people wouldn?t even know we were in a recession if it wasn?t being reported every hour of the day on television. We would just think that gas prices have gone up and that there is a cow shortage causing milk prices to rise. Think for a minute how differently things might be should we be focusing on our gains rather than our losses. And while you and your partner may be doing fine right now and worried about lay off ? this isn?t a worry that will go away when the recession ends. In fact, millions of people ? good people who happen to be parents ? lose their job every year whether we are in a recession or not. And while it feels like the end of the world, it isn?t! With perseverance, creativity, stamina and something like children to feed at home you will find that you are able to get by for as long as it takes.

Financial analysts are scratching their heads at this article. They worry that the author is half mad, perhaps blissfully unaware of just how bad things are. In many aspects that is true largely in part because there are children around who make the recession seem like nothing more than a boil on the butt of life. There is also the quite obvious realization that waiting for your ship to come in, waiting for the right time and over planning life is just another form of procrastination. Life rarely goes as planned and most of the time; especially when your children are born; this is an amazing gift.

When thinking of money and kids, it is certainly important for teenagers to be prepared for the complex and occasionally predatory world of easy credit and the pressures of mass marketing, yet financial literacy can and should start with younger children and parents have a crucial role to play.

Brain research has revealed that children between the ages of 2-9 are predominantly in the slow moving Theta, or Alpha brain states. These are the same states as adults enter during hypnosis, day dreaming or meditation. Whilst between these ages, children are being imprinted with the values and beliefs that they may well hold on to for the rest of their lives.

This is even more apparent when observing a child watching TV. They can completely ?zone out? and be oblivious to anything around them. In such a suggestible state what are they absorbing? Is it any wonder when they nag you incessantly for the latest toy, sweet or video game which they have see in the commercials?

As a child did you grow up hearing statements like, ?Money doesn?t grow on trees? or ?Money is the root of all evil?? If so, statements such as these are likely to be hardwired into your core beliefs and it is these beliefs which affect your attitude, your actions and ultimately your results.

Therefore, in addition to introducing your children to ideas of saving money, budgeting or where money comes from, spare a thought to consider the longer term implications of your words and actions.

Surveys have found for example, that a majority of people keep their bills in the kitchen, which is the most frequently used room in the house. Kids will pick up on the negative association with bills as they see you sorting through piles of unwanted paper.

They will also detect any stress or negative feelings about money from conversations bemoaning the price of groceries or the depressed housing market. Clearly you need not go around putting on an act or a show for your children, but in the same way as many parents want to protect their children from bad language or profanities; surely they need the same protection from influences which could damage their financial futures?

Try and maintain a positive attitude and approach to influencing your children about money. You could for example encourage the spend, share and save approach, where any allowance, gifts or earnings are divided into three areas, one to spend, one to save and one to share. This approach gives a child responsibility for saving their own money and teaches the consequences of spending versus saving or sharing.

As they grow older the saving could be based in an interest bearing account, with some sort of treat or reward being associated with a trip to the bank to make a deposit. Imagine how your attitude to money would be different if as a child you were rewarded every time to saved some money.

The worst part about living in the entitlement mentality society we live in is that it often is the very culprit that leads to bad teen behavior. Teens see adults misbehaving and getting away with it. Company execs can run a company into the ground and still walk away with millions. Politicians can make costly mistakes and still get reelected. People can make an error and then sue someone else to recover from it. Perhaps we shouldn?t be too surprised at bad teen behavior, but if you want to turn it around with your teen, it?s not too late.

If you?re dealing with bad teen behavior in your teen there are some definitive steps you can follow to help change your teen?s attitude:

1. Talk More. Talking to your teen sends a message that you care. Even if you are talking about what will happen with that company exec or that politician, explaining that there are ramifications for their poor choices even if we don?t always hear about them in the news, you can have an impact. Talking is where it starts. Talk to your teen about his or her bad teen behavior; make sure your teens know that every choice they make about how to behave has a consequence. Tie privilege to behavior. If your teen is disrespectful and rude, refuses to do chores or respect curfew, is verbally abusive, or exhibits any other bad teen behavior, then your teen doesn?t deserve to have time out with friends on Friday night, a cell phone, or video games.

2. Set the Right Example. Bad teen behavior is learned. If your teen sees you trying to avoid taking responsibility for your mistakes, blaming others, or behaving poorly that?s the type of behavior they will mimic. If, on the other hand, they hear you apologize when you make a mistake, hear you take responsibility when something goes wrong, and see you treat others with respect, they?ll learn to do the same.

3. Consistency and Follow-Through. Making threats never works, and neither does yelling. If anything, the bad teen behavior will increase because your teen will lose respect for you. Instead, be calm, clear, and firm. Walk away rather than engage in fights. Set boundaries and stick with them. If your teen makes a choice to be disrespectful or break a rule and you?ve indicated that choice will have a consequence (no phone, no going out on the weekend) stick with it, follow through, and make sure the consequence is experienced.

Bad teen behavior is not something you can completely eradicate. As teens, it?s their job to push limits and test boundaries. But you can keep the behavior at a tolerable limit with a few changes in approach.

In most cases, it isn?t easy for children to understand that the instruction from parents is for their own good. You don?t have to please them not enforcing your instruction, as a parent, your primary aim is to help them become firm and understand the intricacies of life for their own better future.

The basis of any training given to a child is to help him or her and also make your relationship better and stronger with them. The child may not realize that certain things a parent says, does or insists that it is done are for the mutual benefit of both the child and the family as a whole. You need to inculcate discipline in your kid.

A parent should be able to use the parental power he or she has very wisely as to get maximum positive result for the kids and the family. You have to be able to create clear expectations, enforce and have follow-up routines. Kid love structure and would gladly follow any good structure the parent has on ground. Even when such kid doesn?t want to follow the structure, it becomes easy for him or her to be channeled towards the structure. Make sure your child knows the rules and as well the consequence of breaking such rule so that nobody feels unjustly treated at the end of the day.

You will make your relationship better and stronger with your children if you allow them to make choices for themselves. For their own good, help them to choose things that are going to affect them positively. You don?t have to choose for them all the time; they have live and should be encouraged to live it with proper guidance.

Try to use positive communication instead of ?bossing? your children. It pays to know that your child values your instructions and would gladly obey than to know that your child is going to do something because of fear of reprisal. Your child is your friend, your kid is your soul-mate and soul-mates reason with each other.

You have to be creative and know when to enforce and when to dialogue with your child, let your kid know how important he or she is to you but insist that they do certain things for their own future benefits. There is no better way to treat a child than to make him realize his mistakes and why he shouldn?t do it next time. You are molding his, or her, so be patience and don?t resort to yelling, or spanking at the slightest instance.

You can make your relationship better and stronger with you kid but you have to be tactical and ensure that he or she gets the right message.
