Top Ten Reasons to Love the First Year of Baby?s Life

No time is more mesmerizing as a parent than the first year that your little bundle of love and joy is alive. The first year of life is one of the most magical times not just for parents but for baby, too, as he begins to explore and learn about the world into which he has arrived. Let?s look at the top ten reasons that you will love the first year of baby?s life and hold it in fond memory forever.

1. You?ve just met the Best Smelling Person in The World. Nothing on earth smells better than a new baby ? in fact, if angels had a scent ? then they would call it ?new baby? because that?s exactly what they would smell like. Most parents just can?t get enough of how great their babies smell. Hang on to these moments, they do not last forever and we cannot (unfortunately) bottle the unique aroma of a newborn baby.

2. Eyes filled with wonder that compel you to dream. When your baby makes that first eye contact with you and really sees you, it just sends shivers down your spine. Making eye contact with your baby for the very first time is an experience you will only have one time, ever.

3. Pudgy little fingers that are sized just right for kissing. When your baby reaches out with those pudgy little fingers and wraps their tiny hand around your finger your heart will melt on the spot.

4. Baby smiles that charm and leave footprints on your heart. When you see your baby?s first smile it surely will not be forgotten. That toothless grin given so sweetly is one of the greatest moments you will share with your baby.

5. The unmistakable laugh that touches your soul. Listening to your baby laugh is like music to your ears. The sound of your baby laughing during that first year makes it very hard not to be in a good mood.

6. The magic when baby takes his first wobbly steps. During the first year your baby will become mobile. They will learn to sit up and crawl and usually, before they year is over, they will learn to walk as well. To watch this little person learn to accomplish all of these great milestones is overwhelming.

7. Unconditional love, given by a helpless angel. There will be a moment when your baby lifts their little arms and reaches out for you. They will express their need for you to hold and cuddle them by reaching out their arms waiting to be picked up.

8. Chubby legs and tummy. Who can resist those portly little legs and bellies? Although baby will fill out as he gets older, the chubbiness doesn?t last long as baby starts walking. Until then, you?ve got a living, breathing, great-smelling baby doll to cuddle.

9. That first real hug. When baby learns how to hug back, that just makes it all worthwhile. Being hugged back by baby is one of the most precious gifts a parent can have.

10. Baby kisses. Once baby masters the art of giving a kiss, you can plan on being smothered in kisses for no reason at all. Baby loves you just because he loves you ? he doesn?t even need a reason.

There are so many firsts that you and your baby will experience during the first fifty-two short weeks of his life and so many unforgettable moments to share. The first year of life is the sweetest and most special year you will spend with your baby. Enjoy every moment of it.
