Caring For Your Wood Play Set: What You Should Do After Installation

Not because you have installed the wood play set in your backyard means that you no longer have a role to play after the process. As long as you have the pieces in your possession, you have a responsibility to make sure that they are taken cared of properly. You need to maintain its look so that your children will look forward to each playtime in these pieces.
Notice that you always want to take good care of your valuables. A wood play set is no exception to that. Since you need to invest on the purchase, the item is also considered valuable to you. Therefore, it is logical for you to care for them once your children begin playing on these pieces.

Tips in caring for your wood play set
Caring for your wood play set is not that stressful as a regular job. You do not have to check on them every day but if you do have the luxury of time, you may do so. In four words, caring for the playground pieces will be very easy

1. Inspect. Inspection of the wood play set should be done regularly. As you water the plants in your garden, you may want to check on the playground as well. Inspection includes checking on the screws, bolts, nuts and other fasteners of the playground. There is a tendency that these pieces will loosen a bit as they are utilized by your kids. Tighten the fasteners when needed.

2. Clean. Cleaning the wood play set is one of the best ways to care for these playground pieces. You may schedule a general cleaning schedule before summertime when your kids will certainly spend more time playing on the grounds. During other seasons, schedule cleaning at regular intervals most preferably twice a month. At least, you will remove all falling leaves and other particles that may cause metal pieces to corrode and wood pieces to decay.

3. Cover. There are parts of the wood play set that you may need to cover particularly that of the sand box. Use a cover that your kids may remove easily later on when they will play on the grounds as well. Before playtime, make sure you cleaned the sandbox too. Replace sand as often as needed.

4. Prevent. Corrosion and deterioration is one of the problems that may hinder your children’s playtime on the wood play set. If one of the S-links on the swings is corroded or any of the other pieces gets deteriorated, replace them immediately. Post a warning and inform your kids that it is not safe to play on the grounds at the moment.

These four words are very important if you want your wood play set to last in your possession for a long time. Caring for the pieces will all boil down to the benefit of your kids. If you want them to be safe in the playground all the time and you want to lessen the need to guide them while they play in your backyard, take these responsibilities wholeheartedly.
